I got to stay up way past my bedtime last night. Which was great. Except, mom and dad took us to a loud place with a large crowd of people.
A band played for awhile, which was okay.
But then the loudest thing I have ever heard started. And there were bright flashes in the sky. People clapped and said ooh. I covered my ears and waited for it all to be done.
Well. At least I got to stay up late.
Happy day of loud bright things.
Today was my first birthday.
It was a good day.
The day started with Grammie and Grandpa singing to me on dad’s phone.
And ended with a big dinner, cake and toys wrapped in paper.
I loved the balloons, the salmon dinner, the ducky cake with sparkly candles for my sister to blow out, the crinkly paper and empty boxes, and the toys that came in them.
Now, if you need me, I will be pushing my new ride around waiting for my next birthday.
Happy birthday to me.
Halloween is an interesting day. Mom and dad dress you in certain outfits. (According to sister you are supposed to throw a crying fit about your outfit.)
Then, mom and dad take you somewhere and people give you candy, which you can’t eat.
But you can irritate sister by stealing the candy.
So, Happy Halloween!
I hope you got to eat your candy and annoy your sister.
Mom took me to the farm today.
We rode a trailer behind a tractor into a field.
Mom told me to pick out a pumpkin.
So I did. I pointed, mom took a picture…. and yet somehow we ended up with that white pumpkin behind me.
Yup. Because sister wanted that one.
Cue diobolical sister laugh.
Oh well. Next year, maybe I will get to choose the pumpkin. But for now…..

I’ve mastered a few new skills.
Mom is so proud of me, but she says there is one skill she would really really like for me to master….
Big sister came with me to my four month doctor appointment. She didn’t seem to be too sad that I had to get shots, but she did tell me that she got shots when she was a baby. Somehow that did make me feel better. Well, that and my very soft bunny blanket.
Vacation is….
Flying on a plane.
….then doing something called “relaxing,” which doesn’t seem all that different from my normal life.
Except that occasionally you wear a funny costume…
…and float around in a giant bathtub.
Hmm. Okay. Don’t totally get it.
Mom and dad sure do love the whole vacation thing.
As long as they are happy.
I haven’t quite figured out how to take my own “selfies.” So mom has to help me.
Does that technically make it a “mommie”?
You may think my life is all cuddles and fireplaces.
But here is the rest of the story:
A twizzle dog, a big sister, a movie played yet again, and toys dangerously shoved in my face.
I try to not let that all get in the way of my beauty sleep, though.
I can’t seem to get through my day without at least one of these things happening to me:
Getting poked in the face.
Getting nibbled.
Getting squished into selfies.
And being bothered during my nap.
I suppose I have a pretty great life.
